My childhood memories of seeing him was in my teenage where I went to greet newly appointed Deputy CM with my elder brother, orthopaedician in early 2000's. Evening I hoped on bike with my brother to power center of  Karnataka Vidhansoudha .It seems he had met with small accident landed up in hospital ,got first aid by my on  duty brother. He had told my brother he will win in next elections and come n meet me at Vidhansoudha.  Largeflock gathered at his office. The Teak semi door  on hinges moved to n fro. White clad peon was taking a visitors note to this Minister and few influentials were sneaking in. To cut short line my brother jotted a line Dr......., Orthopedic Sugeon Kunigal .... On a piece of paper . Within  few minutes we got a call to get in.Inside the crowd was double the people waiting out.  Moment my brother greeted, he recalled incidents happened years before.Boy,he had a elephant memory greeting each one with name and last met anecdotes. ...

Advent of social media, postings by fellow birders in Indian birdwatchers, bng birds   FB group made me hungry for sighting of the famed indian   paradise bird after proxy birding over the internet made me go Ga-ga for one to one sighting. Mid January 2022,enthused by the mission of ebird resolution went to dwelve deep into study of birds. Got connected to senior birders over whatsapp to clear my hunch of over identification of birds. Sometimes I have made mistakes in making Identification, should happen when learning. At times I have been into self made elation trip by thinking I have sighted the rare one in my vicinity. Yes Birdwatching needs patience, and more u get into it,you cannot fathom the vastness of species, sub species jargon of avian world in jiffy. It requires your commitment also to know more, see more and hear more and process them in your grey matter. Consiously I made time for birdwatching, reason for it being it was exciting hobby to develop...

THITHI- kannada movie review of laughing date with death .

Image
Its been long ago,a kannada movie made me slip into reverie dwelling on the plot, cast, realitistic drama or foot tapping music or lip syncing lyrics. Mango showers had started last fortnight, entire kannada film making fraternity was in a buzz, tripping on news of National award for debutant directorial movie THITHI. Title itself is sort of colloqial word which has varied expression n expectation , a 11th day post funeral gathering to see off the departed soul. Pun apart thithi in old mysore rural region is gala of perfect non-vegetarian dishes served with ragi balls. Assuming movie to be 'me too ' types had not given a thought of watching it, well the word of mouth was fast spreading my maid was in all praise for the thithi, who had influenced my mother as a best watch. Gowda friends were all rejoicing the fame of mandya taken upto   Locarno International Film Festival but the THITHI also went on to win two prestigious awards Golden Leopard, Filmmakers of the Present Com...

Resilience of Son of Soil

Late evening after a busy training schedule on Vector borne disease, just stepped out of  Kendriya sadan- central government towers in kormangala, bengaluru. From there i had to reach West of chord towards my home. Taking out my smart phone just logged into newly downloaded Cab service app Uber. Thought of experimenting with Uber pool where in multiple customers can pool into a same cab plying in the same route. After swiping the tab for booking a cab, got a call from a unknown number ,there he was the driver confirming my location. In a jiffy he was there, picked me up, something was miss in his attire, wasnt looking like a typical professional cab driver. His colloquial accent made me acknowledge he seems to be from northern part of karnataka, for we have n number of accent of same language kannada depending on bordering satates. Inquisitively i asked " are you new to bangalore? Do you know the location and route how to take me to destination". Turning back he smiled displ...
