Lucia movie lucifered...

Well the much hyped kannada movie which has won london primier show award by audience is all set to make big hit in Sandalwood.The movie in itself has caught eyes of many  directors,where in Anurag kashyap confesses that his Bday treat would be to watch LUCIA.

Movie ends with a quote "Your small life can be someones big dream",connecting backwards movie will keep you hooked hovering around the real and dream fantasy life of a hero name NIKKI who discover the PILL LUCIA for his insomnia problem. Unlike a common man to aspire and dream big,this guy NIKKI  dreams to be a common man,a torch boy in a talkies akka theatre of yester years which are sparsingly seen in suburbans nowadays.
          
Well the last ending scene is  copy of movie inception,where hero is state of Limbo dreaming in ICU with ventilator support, suddenly wakes upto reality after he is shot dead in his virtual world. Issue of euthanasia is touched superficially. Though between movie seems to be messed up which gradually takes off to a understanding in last 30- 40 minutes.Story has nicely knit plots of a pizza girl/ struggling Actress role of heroine Shweta who tries to add a Kanglish tinge to a  NIkkI mandya rural guy.And NIkkI(Satish) has done a mature role here doing justice to the new director Pawan Kumar. Cinematography is colourful,raises ones doubt  it being 51 lakh budget movie.

Coming to music it is a  project picked few rural singer,amateur orchestra performers, trained them to be a very good playback singers.
New voices in song Nee Thorabeda can kindle your emotion put you in a trance with philosophical dose from kanakadasa lines related to illusion of Life in itself.
Song thinbedakammi is pakka treat to ear who loves folksongs,makes you listen again and again. 
And the music credit goes to young techie Poorna chandra Tejaswi who has quit Software job to establish in music industry who claims to have done background score in 3 days.

Well the way Social media has been exploited to generate online producers and distributors is too good,every aspect of movie has something new,innovative which has to be appreciated.
At times where horrible movies are made in kannda,LUCIA deserves a good warm welcoming by all kannadigas by watching  for its trend setting ability may be after movies like mungaru male and Upendra.
Well its time for reforms i see,Lucia opening avenues for creative people in sandalwood.

Overall a very good watch,and was awesome to see my first kannada movie LUCIA in Delhi with friends,where in i felt, Ammi and maga did we block all seats in PVRcinemas!!!!

THITHI- kannada movie review of laughing date with death .

Its been long ago,a kannada movie made me slip into reverie dwelling on the plot, cast, realitistic drama or foot tapping music or lip syncing lyrics. Mango showers had started last fortnight,entire kannada film making fraternity was in a buzz, tripping on news of National award for debutant directorial movie THITHI. Title itself is sort of colloqial word which has varied expression n expectation , a 11th day post funeral gathering to see off the departed soul. Pun apart thithi in old mysore rural region is gala of perfect non-vegetarian dishes served with ragi balls. Assuming movie to be 'me too ' types had not given a thought of watching it, well the word of mouth was fast spreading my maid was in all praise for the thithi,who had influenced my mother as a best watch.
